Back in Haiti – for 4 months now

Posted: March 29, 2010 in Uncategorized

Hello everyone,

So as you can tell by the headline I am back in Haiti.  I was home for 3 weeks before returning and this is why I am here.  my #1 goal is to create a network of participating hospitals and tent hospitals on a central supply line.  The reason for this is that when the tent hospitals are well stocked they can save countelss more lives that the hospitals can.  This is our first line of defense here in Haiti for when the reasiny season comes.

Now on how I got here.  It took forever but I finally made it.  From PHX to ATL by plane and the from ATL to MIA by car and finally from MIA to PAP by plane.  It was a long trip but well worth it.

I’ve been here 3 days now and we have set up camp on the top of CDTI Hospital.  I am no longer associated with HCH hospital because things have really gone downhill there in the last 3 weeks.  The weather is still pretty miserable and it’s only getting more humid every day.  I’ve visited with HCH, St. Damien’s and CDTI about the project and a couple of them seem interested.  The rest of this week is going to consist of locating the tent hospitals and get them stocked up.

I really like the CDTI crews that are here.  They are very united and have amazingly big hearts.  Justine has been here 7 weeks and she is amazing.  Beth has been here just as long I believe and she kicks butt too.  Little Paul and I are working hard at this project.  We’ve run into some snags and had to learn peoples true colrs the hard way but overall things are going smoothly.

Now that we are set up at a great facility I will update more frequently.  Also, I’m going to setup a youtube account and start uploading videos so watch out for those too.

I hope you all have a wonderful day.

Paul

Really awesome! It’s amazing how much work still needs to be done after the cameras have gone away. I look forward to reading about your journey.
